On June 4, Child's World Encino will celebrate the graduation of our Pre-K, TK, and Kindergarten classes at 10 a.m. on the school stage. The theme is the 90s, and these incredible kids will receive their diplomas, sing songs, and dance to music from the decade. It's going to be joyful and loud and full of love.
But before we get to the celebration, it's worth pausing to think about what your child has actually built during their time here.
At Child's World Encino, our mission is to educate the total child, to develop the whole person across social, emotional, academic, and creative domains. What does that look like over the course of a year, or several years?
It looks like a child who knows how to listen and wait their turn. A child who can sit and focus, but also knows how to play and imagine and take creative risks. A child who can recognize letters and numbers, hold a pencil with confidence, and tackle a hands-on science activity with curiosity instead of fear.
It looks like a child who knows their teachers have their back, and who has learned that school is a safe place to try hard things.
That is what our graduates carry into kindergarten and elementary school. Not just academic skills, though those are strong, but the social-emotional foundation that makes all future learning possible. Executive functioning. Self-regulation. Resilience. The ability to build friendships and work through conflict. The belief that they are capable.
For families who are newer to Child's World Encino, watching the graduation ceremony is a preview of what is ahead for your own children. This community takes the journey seriously. The relationships your child builds here, with teachers and peers, become the scaffolding for everything that follows.
To our graduates and their families: we are so proud of you.
We'll see you on June 4!
