Goats, Sheep, and Bunnies Are Coming to Our Yard

Woodland Hills is getting ready for a special visitor day. On Friday, August 21, a petting zoo will set up right in our yard, bringing goats, sheep, and bunnies for our children to meet.

Our children will spend the morning up close with goats, sheep, and bunnies, guided by an instructor who brings each animal to life with stories about what it eats, how it lives, and why it looks the way it does. Gently petting and caring for an animal teaches our children to be soft with something smaller than themselves, and that gentleness often carries straight into how they treat their friends in the classroom. Learning about animals also sparks big questions. A child who wonders why a bunny's ears are so long is the same child who raises a hand to ask a question during circle time. We love watching that curiosity grow, both at school and at home.

Our Woodland Hills families are invited to spend the morning with the animals, and so is anyone getting to know our school for the first time. We will share the exact timing for the morning as the date gets closer.
