A Look Back at Our First Weeks of Summer at Encino

Summer at Child's World Encino is off to a wonderful start. Over the past three weeks, our infants and toddlers, our twos and threes, and our Big Kid Campers each explored their own version of A Summer of Discovery, with activities built just for their age and stage.
Discovering Friendship (June 15 to 19)
Our youngest campers, the infants and toddlers, kicked off the week bouncing into summer with jumper fun, then spent their days with a friendship picnic and a friendship fruit salad in the kitchen. Our twos and threes joined in the jumper fun before creating a friendship banner together and tasting their own friendship fruit salad. Our Big Kid Campers bounced into summer alongside their younger friends, then made friendship yogurt cones and friendship bracelets to share. Every group spent Tuesday with Teacher Paulie for music.
Discovering the Ocean (June 22 to 26)
Our infants and toddlers dove into the ocean theme with jellyfish suncatchers, a feed the shark activity, and ocean style rice cakes in the kitchen. Our twos and threes explored a save our ocean sensory bin, crafted jiggly jellyfish, and enjoyed under the sea yogurt cups. Our Big Kid Campers made coffee filter jellyfish, whipped up beach bear pudding cups, and headed out on a field trip to Underwood Farms. The whole school wrapped up the week together with a visit from the mermaids.
Discovering Summer Treats (June 29 to July 3)
Our infants and toddlers explored a lemonade sensory bin and made their own ice cream craft, finishing the week with sand pail pudding cups. Our twos and threes built watermelon squishy crafts and tissue paper popsicle crafts before making fresh lemonade together. Our Big Kid Campers mixed up lemon volcano science, made pineapple name crafts, and celebrated the holiday with a Fourth of July popsicle party.
From jellyfish crafts to lemon volcanoes, every group at Encino has been busy discovering, creating, and having fun together. We cannot wait to see what the next few weeks of summer bring.
