Supporting Your Child’s Step Into Elementary School
For more than 30 years, Child’s World School has helped young children grow and prepare for life beyond its warm, nurturing community. Our programs span every age, beginning in infancy and continuing through kindergarten at age 5. Over the course of a child’s years with us, our teachers come to know them well. They know how each child learns, what makes them light up, and what helps them feel brave. We use everything we know to help your family step into this next chapter with warmth, clarity, and confidence.

A Foundation Built One Year at a Time
Learning at Child’s World builds like a staircase. From infants to toddlers to preschoolers, each year builds upon the last, helping each child reach their greatest potential one step at a time. Our preschoolers grow into confident thinkers who thrive in TK and kindergarten. Our graduates arrive at elementary school with real, lasting readiness, both academic and social-emotional.
Our approach blends play-based, interactive learning experiences with early academics. Children practice letters and math skills, explore early science, and build the handwriting skills and focus that their new classroom will expect. Most of our alumni families tell us their children arrive at elementary school more than ready.
Miss Jeanette is truly an incredible teacher, and we feel so fortunate that our daughter had the opportunity to be in her TK class. She is one of the most kind-hearted, caring, and patient teachers, and it was always clear how genuinely she cared for each and every one of her students.
One of the things we appreciated most about Miss Jeanette was how fair and consistent she was with all of the children. She knew how to be loving and nurturing while also making sure her expectations were understood and that her point got across in a positive and respectful way.
Most importantly, we saw such tremendous growth in our daughter throughout the year. By the time she entered kindergarten, she was incredibly well prepared academically. She had a strong foundation in her alphabet, letters, numbers, spelling, and other important skills that made her transition into kindergarten so much easier and gave her confidence going into the new school year.
We are so grateful for the time, patience, love, and dedication Miss Jeanette gave our daughter and all of her students. She made such a positive impact during such an important year, and we will always be thankful that she was part of our daughter’s early education. We would wholeheartedly recommend Miss Jeanette and CWS to any family!

Every family’s situation is a little different, and every child is one of a kind. We take time to understand what your family needs and what your child is ready for. Across the years, our teachers give children plenty of one-on-one attention, helping each child lean into their strengths and grow in the areas that are still coming along.
When it’s time to think about elementary school, that same partnership guides the way. Together, we discuss your child’s unique needs and how we can support each other to give them the most positive experience and outcome.
How We Help With the Transition
Families moving on to elementary school can count on us for:

Written progress reports. We share student evaluations, so you always have a clear picture of how your child is growing across the ages and stages.

Parent-teacher conferences. We sit down together to talk through progress, celebrate the wins, and plan for what’s ahead.

School paperwork, handled. We complete the evaluations elementary schools request and provide every required record.

One-on-one readiness meetings. Whenever you’d like, we’ll meet to talk through your child’s readiness and which schools might be the best fit for your family.

Classroom conversations. Our TK and kindergarten teachers gently prepare children for the change through group discussions and story times about starting a new school.
Celebrating the Journey
Before children head off, we send them off in style. Our graduation ceremony and performance give families a chance to celebrate everything their child has accomplished. It’s a joyful, proud moment, and a wonderful way to mark how ready they are for what comes next.
