History:

Child's World School first opened its doors over thirty years ago to a small group of pre-school aged children in Encino, California. Believing that a strong, creative program along with a nurturing environment are the fundamental tools for helping to develop the young mind, the school's population began to grow. Child's World became so well known in the area for its commitment to high standards of early childhood education that a second campus was opened a few miles away in Woodland Hills. A wonderful testimony to the school's success came in 1998 when it was awarded a Certificate of Recognition by Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan for its long standing contribution to the area's youngest students.

Philosophy:

The early years are crucial in a child's development and lay the foundation for life's journey as a student and a responsible, productive adult. Child's World School is a community devoted to illuminating a child's sense of importance and value, where uniqueness and self confidence can flourish - a place where individuality and differences are welcome and appreciated. Students at Child's World School explore the world, have their imaginations fired and their challenges overcome as well as having their self respect and respect for others enhanced.

Mission Statement:

Child's World School is committed to providing a loving, safe and nurturing environment for our students. Focusing on the "Total Child," our priorities are the development of a positive self-concept, mastery of cognitive skills, social, emotional and physical growth plus a love of learning and a thirst for knowledge.

As Child's World continued to be a model preschool, parents began to ask that a kindergarten class be formed so their children could remain at the school. For the many years that followed, children who remained at the Child's World kindergarten went on to other elementary schools extremely prepared for the expectations of the higher grades. In fact, most Child's World graduates enter their next schools with knowledge and skills well beyond grade level.

It is for this reason, that Child's World School once again responded to the requests of parents by expanding its program further into the elementary grades. This led to the formation of our Encino Academy Elementary School, located in the campus adjacent to the Child's World Preschool. Although our schools continue to grow, great care is taken to preserve the cozy, familial atmosphere and strong commitment towards excellence that has always been synonymous with Child's World School. To the surprise and pleasure of the community, even the youngest of area children began to be cared for at Child's World School with the opening of the Infant Centers in both campuses. There, infants ages six weeks to two years are loved, and nurtured in an atmosphere of warmth and early learning. Both Child's World campuses are open year round as a service to working parents in the community.
