Curriculum

The curriculum at Child's World School  is updated yearly to coincide with current teaching methods.  Our lesson plans are developed through a committee of lead teachers and administrators who have conducted observations and evaluations of children and understand their developmental milestones.  We are committed to providing the "Total Child" with a well-balanced curriculum, which caters to his/her emotional, cognitive, physical and social needs.  We believe that education begins at birth.  Therefore, our entire student-body, including infants and toddlers, are presented with age-appropriate experiences to broaden their intellectual and social abilities.  We are dedicated to providing our students with fun, educational and memorable experiences while preparing them for a successful academic career.  

Enhancing the basic curriculum, additional specialists are employed to teach classes in Spanish, music, dance and gardening. The program is further complemented by activites in computers, science, cooking, art, gymnastics, sports, drama, Aikido and more. Each child at our school receives individualized attention because of our small staff/student ratios taught by highly qualified teachers.

Kindergarten

The Kindergarten program at Child's World School offers its school-aged population a hands-on, concrete approach to mastering academic skills in reading, language arts, writing, math, science, social studies and more.  Our program is known for its advanced curriculum and its unique way of offering our students opportunities from which they will broaden their cognitive skills and develop a positive self image.

Upon entering the elementary grades, kindergarteners have mastered reading and spelling six to eight letter words and have learned to producte gramatically correct sentences and short paragraphs.  Our curriculum further satisfies our student's thirst for knowledge by introducing them to basic mathematical skills, such as addition, subtraction, telling time, money, fractions and more.  From weekly spelling tests to monthly presentations, our young scholars are preparing for a successful academic future and life.

Preschool

Preschool at Child's World School is one of fun, learning and memories.  While we focus on academics to better prepare our students for kindergarten and grade school, we also strive to offer our young learners their right to a playful and memorable childhood.

Our well-balanced, core curriculum follows central monthly themes.  These themes provide the children with vast amounts of knowldge and experience, while allowing hands-on fun!  Daily experiences are designed to encourage self-awareness and self-expression, provide sensory experiences, develop small and large motor skills and motivate verbal and social skills.  Additional specialists in the areas of music, foreign language and sports further enhance our curriculum.

Infants and Toddlers

Child's World School is proud to offer its youngest students, infants and toddlers, an amazing start to their experience in school.  This exceptional program provides little ones the opportunity to socialize, exposure to various activities and the love, safety and nurturing they deserve and need.

The program is taught by loving professionals who have obtained their own education in early childhood development with added coursework in infant studies.  Their innate natures, coupled with their training and experience in the field, have made them sensitive to the needs of infants and qualified to satisfy those needs.  The rooms are designed to be psychologically soothing, intellectually stimulating, physically motivating and socially interactive.
